BlueRock acquires WorkflowMax brand

Xero’s WorkflowMax is a well-known brand and comprehensive job management product. Thousands of businesses use it every day to help with quoting, scheduling, time tracking, invoicing and reporting.

On 23 March 2023, Xero announced its plans to retire WorkflowMax and we’re excited to share that BlueRock will take over the WorkflowMax brand in order to offer a newly developed WorkflowMax solution in the market: WorkflowMax by BlueRock.

We expect WorkflowMax by BlueRock to be available for customers in early 2024, with many of the features customers know and love in the Xero product plus several exciting updates and an improved user experience.

Why Did BlueRock Acquire the WorkflowMax Brand?

As a tech-led advisory business, BlueRock is always looking for ways to improve the lives of SME business owners through technology and innovation. WorkflowMax has been a solution that has ticked so many boxes for SME businesses, and BlueRock is eager to offer a new job management solution to customers with similar functionality.

As well as this, BlueRock’s Digital team has been implementing Xero’s WorkflowMax product for customers for over 8 years. We’ve seen first-hand the value the product delivers and the popularity of this job management solution across many industries and business types.

BlueRock’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Lalor, said: “We’ve always been passionate about WorkflowMax and the benefits it brings SME business owners, and believe there is so much potential to build on the great foundations Xero has set with this product. We’re excited to offer a new job management software solution, which we’re aiming to be similar, if not better, in terms of functionality, to meet evolving market and customer demands. As a business, we're focusing more and more on the development of tech and AI products that will support our SME business clients and advisors, and the WorkflowMax by BlueRock product will be a fantastic addition to our offering.”

As part of the brand acquisition, Xero will continue to use the WorkflowMax brand and manage existing WorkflowMax customer subscriptions until the product is retired in June 2024. Once WorkflowMax by BlueRock is launched and made available to customers, Xero will have an ongoing revenue share agreement with BlueRock in connection with WorkflowMax by BlueRock.

What can you expect in the WorkflowMax by BlueRock solution?

SAME FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY

With the launch of WorkflowMax by BlueRock, we’ll be including the same features you know and love, particularly when it comes to managing jobs, billing time, and managing invoices. The experience may be slightly different to what it was – but we feel you'll feel right at home, saving time with an improved and more intuitive layout.

EXCITING PRODUCT UPDATES

We’ll be releasing the WorkflowMax by BlueRock solution with the addition of some new features based on feedback from more than 3,000 customers.

IMPROVED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

We’ve had plenty of feedback with respect to the design of WorkflowMax and it sounds like it's time for a refresh. In the first instance, when it comes to creating jobs, adding tasks, and generating invoices, processes will remain very similar to how they exist today. Over time, we’ll be updating the user interface to reduce the number of clicks, and provide a more intuitive user workflow.
